Gir Cow Bank is a purpose-driven initiative dedicated to the protection, care, preservation and promotion of indigenous Gir cows, while building a sustainable ecosystem around natural cow-based dairy, organic farming, Gau-Suraksha, गौशाला (Gaushala), Panchgavya products and traditional Indian values.
Gir Cow Bank was started with a vision to create a meaningful connection between Gau-Suraksha, healthy living, natural farming and responsible community participation. The initiative began in 2019 with organic farming, and the Gaushala was formally established around Holi 2020 with three Gir cows. Since then, Gir Cow Bank has grown into an expanding ecosystem caring for 250+ cows and working towards the long-term protection and development of indigenous Gir cattle.
